Developing the Good Heart Benefiting All: The 37 Practices of the Bodhisattva
Thirty-Seven Practices of the Bodhisattvas is an important lojong text by Gyalsé Tokmé Zangpo written in 14th-century Tibet. In thirty-seven verses, it gives instructions on how to follow the bodhisattva way of life of compassion, of finding and maintaining the good heart benefiting others. Tibetan masters have said that the Eight Verses of Training the Mind represents the short version of lojong, the Thirty-Seven Practices is the medium, and the Bodhicharyavatara is the extensive version.
It is said that Tokmé Zangpo was able fully to take upon himself the suffering of others and to give them his well-being, and without any expectation as to the result. He met buddhas and deities such as Avalokiteshvara and Tara face to face. He taught many of the greatest teachers of his time in Central Tibet. He passed away at the age of 74 amidst wondrous signs of realization.
We hope that you'll be able to attend this wonderful class and meet our honored guest Geshe Tashi Dorje from Seramey monastery.
